I am nailing down my Wonder Con schedule.  Wonder Con is at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.  I should be there Friday afternoon and all of Saturday, not sure about Sunday.  I will not have my own table – rather, I will be hanging around the Prism Comics booth.  They have Picnic on the Moon, Disconnect, and Flesh Games for sale but no prints this time around. I will be doing a signing there, also, the time of which I will update soon!

This is the panel I’m participating in: “The Bad and The Bold: Pushing the Boundaries with LGBT Characters” Room 211AB.  Friday, 6:30-7:30pm!  Proudly brought to you by the letter B, if you didn’t already know. :>

Stop by and say hi!!!

Page 64!

A lot of young Western girls have their first “love” affairs with horses, which can be interpreted in a Freudian way considering the passion frequently flares up in the years right before and during puberty. I myself loved horses between the ages of 10 and 14 despite the fact that riding them scared me and I was always frustrated at their lack of affection toward people unlike cats or dogs. I don’t usually talk much about individual pages, preferring to let readers interpret each page, but it only dawned on me later that Brina’s assertion of self and a new act separate from Zaire, whom she realized did not return her romantic feelings, involved horses (or in this case, horse-like critters.) Seems apropos.

Ugh, I’m coming down with something, I can feeeel it!! :(

I love trying to show feelings and moods as physical manifestation.  This was my idea for what a deep emotional bond might look like: almost a melting between two people.  (Not a codependent relationship, natch.)

Inking next Acrobats page, sorry it’s a little late again. :(

Also, I need to try and figure out where I’m going to be staying for WonderCon and all that!

So looks like I will be going to Wonder Con even though it moved to Anaheim this year.  I was invited to participate on a panel about LGBT characters in comics (woo!)  Well it’s really more specific than that but I’ll update with more info closer to the date.  It’s the weekend of March 16-18th.

New page!  So it looks like I’m keeping up with the old “every other week” schedule until further notice.  I was totally high school and listening to a song on repeat drawing this – In Power We Trust the Love Eternal by Dead Can Dance (and covered by The Gathering!)

I’m settled in my new place and starting a brand shiny new job in a week.  Yay!

Packing my most prized possessions… Third move in two years.  Feels weird that I’m about to be semi-homeless.  Anyway, I was thinking I really miss the personal part of blogging.  I’ve tried to keep my WordPress somewhat professional, whatever that may mean, but I’d like to post personal do-dads as well.  Tumblr seems more suited to that but then why not post it here, too?

In unrelated news, I really like the Tumblr interface!

Hi everyone!  I grovel before you with an update for Acrobats… the first page in over a month!  I am in the middle of a move and job interviews; my life is a crazy mess but I am trying to get back on track with art.  I now have three anthologies I’m contributing to, so I do promise there will be new art soon. :>  Thank you for your patience!

I also have a Tumblr now!  Since hardly anyone uses WordPress for art purposes. :p

What I think of when I think of 2011:

Anyway.  I got the next page of Acrobats pencilled and still working on a couple other things.  Stay tuned.

Hello everyone!  I feel fairly optimistic for this year, despite going through a rough patch for a while (and still not out of it, really.)  I’m working on a few things right now which I can’t put up until the projects themselves are done with and published, but I can give you a little preview!

A comic about bees for an anthology about insect-folk.  This is the second comic in four years that combines insect women and weird sexual imagery.  Years later I’ll look back and pat myself on the back for cornering this niche market before anyone else.

A sweet boys’ love illustration for an artbook.  I have to get hoppin’ and finish the coloring on this by February! :O

And yes, I am working on the next page of Acrobats, between this and packing up everything I own into boxes and driving it to several different places!  Still, I hope to make this year full of art again.  Thank you for your patience!
